Wish upon a star and see the classic
story of Pinocchio like never before!
TaleGate Theatre Productions
return to Parkway Cinema this
December with the timeless tale
of Pinocchio, promising a live
pantomime adventure that will
kickstart the festive season.
Parkway Cinema isn't just a place
for the latest blockbusters - it's also
a stage for live performances and is home to TaleGate’s annual Christmas
pantomimes in Beverley. “We’re thrilled to be creating Christmas magic
again in Beverley,” comments Artistic Director, James Worthington. “Our
team is so fond of Beverley and its lively audiences. It's great to see familiar
faces in the crowd each year, and we're excited to keep building this festive
tradition together.”
Featuring pop songs, slapstick, silliness and plenty of audience
participation, families can expect all the fairytale magic of a traditional
pantomime in Pinocchio. “The show revolves around the classic story of
Pinocchio's quest to become a real boy, but with that traditional panto
comedy flair,” promises James. “Audiences will recognise beloved characters
like Jiminy Cricket, and they’ll love-to-hate the evil ringmaster, Spagboli. The
show is designed to be a lot of fun for the whole family.”
And what's a Christmas
pantomime without an
unforgettable Panto
Dame? This year,
James himself will step
into heels and onto
the stage in Beverley
as "Dame James,"
taking on the role of
Pinocchio's larger-thanlife Mum.
Dame James, a familiar
face to some from
past pantomimes in
Goole, is excited about the upcoming panto season in Beverley: "The beauty
of live panto is that you never know what's going to happen and how each
audience will react, but it's always an absolute blast!"
