A significant highlight of Beverley’s arts
scene, Beverley & East Riding Early Music
festival takes place every year in many of
the town’s glorious historic venues.
This year’s theme is Threads of Gold,
weaving together a musical tapestry of
delights.
Discover a weekend-long programme that’s
a wealth of music, history, drama and song,
all designed to entertain, to engage and to
intrigue, with opportunities to make music as
well as to enjoy it.
Threads of Gold
As well as celebrating Beverley’s rich and
fascinating history through specialised talks
and lectures, the festival is well known for
exploring a vast range of music from the
medieval to the baroque presented by some
of the world’s finest musicians.
The festival opens with the Spanish
instrumental group El Gran Teatro del
Mundo, (St Mary’s Church). Acclaimed for
their sparkling musicianship, the players
reveal a magical musical journey… exploring
love, and death, through the music of the
night.
Tenebrae, (Beverley Minster). One of the
festival’s highlights is always the concert
in Beverley’s glorious minster, the perfect
setting to enjoy some sublime music.
This year the festival welcomes the awardwinning vocalists, Tenebrae, sharing their
award-winning presentation of Victoria’s
extraordinary Requiem, a masterpiece
evoking the rich and intriguing sounds of the
Spanish Renaissance.

The Telling

Westwood Pastures in the company of
SongPath.
This uplifting programme is open to all and
encourages creative connection to the world
through an uplifting blend of walking, talking
and music-making in nature.
The only criteria are a willingness and
ability to walk and stand - and to enjoy the
company of others.
Please bring suitable clothing and footwear
and if necessary - a brolly!
