YORKSHIRE & THE NORTH EAST
Summertime in Northumbria
We travel to the coast and South
Shields, the home of the late
Catherine Cookson. We travel past
Marsden Bay, Whitburn, and Seaburn
before heading inland to the ancient
and historic city of Durham. Next,
we'll head north, past Blyth and
Ashington, to Amble, Warkworth, and
historic Alnwick. We have time to
explore the town, including its mighty
castle. Finally, spend some time
exploring Newcastle, visiting the
famous quayside, or shopping in Eldon
Square.
