The Beverley Anglo-French Society gives you
the opportunity to learn more about France,
its language and culture. Next meeting: Annie
Ernaux. A talk by Maryse Wright. On 6 October
2022 Annie Ernaux was awarded the Nobel
Prize in Literature. She has had a long and
distinguished writing career and is the first
Frenchwoman to receive the literature prize.
Emmanuel Macron said that she was the voice
"of the freedom of women and of the
