Synonymous with mountains, lakeside
scenery and a particularly a
mischievous rabbit with a nose for
adventure, the Lake District is one of
the best-loved regions in Britain.
Spectacular at any time of year, the
views across the waters are something
to behold, and with a cruise on Lake
Windermere and a journey on the
Ullswater Way, let the scenery unfold
around you and take your breath
away. Enjoy more stunning views
mixed with the majesty of power as
you board the heritage railway from
Lakeside to Haverthwaite and
continue your nostalgic journey to
find yourself at the heart of the
inspiration for Beatrix Potter9s
enchanting animal tales and avoid Mr
McGregor9s tempting garden (and his
ire!) with an afternoon tea here.

Charming Cheshire
and the Wirral Peninsula
Cheshire has so many places of
interest it is hard to know where to
start. A visit to historic city of Chester
before a relaxing cruise along the river
Dee. By contrast, after a tour of the
Peak District, we take a boat trip on
the Anderton Boat Lift a Victorian
masterpiece of electrical engineering.
Rounding off this all too brief visit to
Cheshire, we have a guided visit to
Port Sunlight Museum and Garden
Village, created in 1888 by William
Hesketh Lever for his Sunlight Soap
factory workers, before a visit to the
wonderful Ness Botanic Gardens with
over 64 acres of stunning gardens to
explore.
